Viper Nation embark on Season 2021
This season the Vipers look to defend their Juniors and Woman's titles and understand the tough task ahead !
Our Woman's team have a lot of new faces icluding a New Head Coach in Giovanni Foliaki former mens championship player but also have Veteran Coach Steve Prout returning and a lot of championship players returning so look for good mix and have been training hard to prepare for all challenges ahead . The Ladies have had a long preperation and although they faced a forfeit in week one from the Jets are still super motivated !
The Juniors are a brand new team and a Brand new Head Coach in Charlie Reid a superstar in the mens team and champioship QB for the Juniors previously ! With majority of the Veteran lads moving on through age limits and it has left us with alot of new faces and new challenges ! We are excited at the variety of talent we have and the kids are working hard to develop into great football players and great young men ! Our kids had a tough loss in week one but lots to learn and are excited now they have a taste !!
The Vipers Mens team have been hit hard with retirement and by Covid related forced leave ,with many of our members working in industry's that have been either shut down or at a loss since restrictions and vax requirement's come into place . In the last 4 years the Men have only played a half of season each year due to teams forfeiting against us and this has also forced many to choose not to play as league fees remain the same for all teams all members yet our players miss half the season due to opponent's not wanting to be beat and so Our men have decided to focus on LIFE and wont participate this season .We will be back and hopefully the world and our league are in better places that these issues don't effect us all. Similiar Circumstances have seen the Perth Broncos Juniors stand down for the season , The Perth Blitz Womans ,Mens and Juniors stand down for the season so its a very real thing and hurting our sport we love .
